Caspian Construction Week News

Caspian Construction Week News

The annual BakuBuild construction exhibition, known in the trade as the Caspian Construction Week, opens on 19 October. This is a long-awaited event for thousands of professionals from various countries who take part in the exhibition annually. Over its 17 years of existence BakuBuild has acquired an excellent international reputation, and taken its place among other construction exhibitions in the portfolio of ITE Group Plc., becoming the third largest of these events. The main purpose of the exhibition is to demonstrate the achievements of the construction sector in general and the construction potential of our country in particular. BakuBuild is a unique opportunity for companies and organizations engaged in the construction, repair and engineering of buildings to establish new business contacts and partnerships, attract a large number of customers, and share experiences and the latest information with professionals. BakuBuild is not just an annual forum for professionals, but is also open to a much wider audience, enabling everyone interested in the construction or restoration of a house to conveniently discover information about the latest products, services, prices and quality. The companies engaged in restoration and interior design also offer their services to end-users.

There is much to be proud of

This year BakuBuild is taking place in three showrooms and an outdoor space at Baku Expo Center. The seventeenth consecutive exhibition will be remembered by visitors not only for its scale (the exhibition space has grown by more than 20%), but also for the increased number of participants this year 24% of the exhibiting companies will participate in BakuBuild for the first time. One third of the 317 exhibiting companies will be Azerbaijani producers and distributors, taking up 35% of the exhibition area; while more than 50% of the exhibitors will be representatives from foreign countries (from Europe, Turkey, China, Korea, Kuwait, the UAE and others). Finally about 15% of the exhibitors will be representing companies from the CIS countries.
This year, many new and interesting exhibits have been prepared for visitors. BakuBuild will demonstrate a rich assortment of building materials and equipment, as well as finishing and coating materials. Sanitaryware, glazing equipment, technology for the production of concrete and cement, and specialized and road-building equipment, among other products, will be presented on the stands. The stands of interest include those displaying new techniques and technologies, architectural design technologies, a wide range of chemical construction products, wood processing equipment, production lines, tools, and ceramic products. Landscaping will also be widely represented. Examples of construction techniques from the USA, Turkey, Korea and other countries will be located in a dedicated outside area of Baku Expo Centre. Companies manufacturing high-quality building materials, flooring and roofing systems that meet international standards will be displaying new products. Visitors will not only be able to become acquainted with the products on display and receive detailed information directly from the producers about their specifications and characteristics, but also be able to consult with leading experts about the products applications. The exhibition will present a wide range of products and services for both construction industry professionals and the general population. The construction of a house, the refurbishment of a flat or the interior upgrade ? ideas for all these will be presented at BakuBuild 2011. In one venue one will be able to pick up doors and flooring, equip a bathroom, and pick up an interior to suit every taste.

National stands

Along with the individual stands, six collective exhibitions will take part in BakuBuild. As is traditional, there will be national stands from Germany (in close co-operation with the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA)), Italy, Finland and Iran. Portugal will also have a national stand at BakuBuild for the first time. The Turkish producers, for whom the Azerbaijani market has always been a priority, will be represented by a large delegation. The participation of national stands and groups has always been a remarkable event at the exhibition, as it enables several leading companies to present their products and services within the framework of a national stand. In addition, the organization of a national stand involves government agencies and associations, which shows strong support on the part of the State for the companies making efforts in international co-operation.

The Innovation Zone

Particular attention is given to the demonstration of new technologies. Almost every stand has displays of new developments and services in the construction sector. The innovations are presented by both local and foreign producers. For example, the Azerbaijani company, Matanat A, will show visitors their nanotechnology products, while the German-Russian architectural bureau, BAUMA, will present several interesting projects, including a roof garden at a sports school. On its stand, AAC Co. Ltd. will discuss gas concrete and its different qualities: strength, lightness, long life, sound insulation, etc. Edora Revolving Door Systems will present a 5-metre in diameter automatic rotating glass door containing glass display units. Innovative proposals for playground equipment and infrastructure for people with restricted mobility will also be presented at the exhibition for the first time.

All the most interesting innovations will be reflected in the Innovations Catalogue, which will be published in time for the beginning of the exhibition. The catalogue will be distributed to visitors at the registration desk throughout the exhibition. The goods, materials and services that are listed in the catalogue will be easily detected at the exhibition as they will be highlighted by special badge on the stands and marked with an Innovation Zone icon on the exhibition plan.

Business Programme

There will be many presentations made by the participating companies on their stands during BakuBuild 2011. In addition, a meeting of the construction club organized by the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC), with the organizational support of Iteca Caspian LLC, has been scheduled for the second day of the exhibition. The meeting will take place on 20 October at 15.00, within the framework of the business programme. The topic of the meeting is "The development of and prospects for the construction sector. The exhibitors at BakuBuild 2011 will also participate in a meeting of the club as delegates and speakers along with members, guests and officials. LTS MMC, Metalcertima and BAUMA will be among the delegates. Anyone wishing to attend the meeting should contact the organizers for pre-registration.

On one platform with BakuBuild

Several other exhibitions dedicated to interrelated topics will be held alongside BakuBuild 2011.

The 3rd International Exhibition for Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning, Water Supply, Sanitary, Environmental Technology, Swimming Pool and Renewable Energies (Aqua-Therm Baku 2011), which attracts the greatest interest from international players, will be accommodated in the second showroom of Baku Expo Center and will gather leading companies in the field from Italy, China, Russia, Turkey, Sweden, Finland and other countries. This year Aqua-Therm Baku will be 40% larger than in previous years. In addition to heating systems, insulating materials, saunas, fans and air diffusers, for the first time the exhibition will feature dry ice for use in the chemical industry, portable stoves, innovations in refrigeration and ceramic membrane filters. The exhibition will bring together representatives of two well-known German professional associations, BDH (Heating) and FGK (Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Cooling), who together will be studying the Azerbaijani market. The associations plan to take part in the exhibition next year and to provide support to association members wishing to participate in the exhibition.

Caspian MebelExpo 2011, the 9th Caspian International Furniture, Interiors and Design Exhibition, will showcase an assortment of furniture products, including suites and accessories, furniture items, new components and finishing materials, advanced design technologies, and original decoration and style solutions for furniture, interiors, wallpaper, textiles, illuminating equipment, mirrors, crystal and much more.

CIPS, the 4th Caspian International Protection, Security and Rescue Exhibition, will gather companies from Azerbaijan, Italy, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, the UAE, the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic, for the demonstration of their high-tech products. The exhibition will include the latest equipment, advanced technologies, and recent developments and designs in virtually all areas of security. The largest section of the exhibition will cover hardware and security systems. Thus, the exhibition will present a wide range of CCTV cameras from leading manufacturers including Bosch Security Systems, Sony Security, etc. A separate section of the exhibition will be dedicated to fire safety systems, where modular fire safety systems and solutions for residential and commercial premises will be demonstrated.

Thus, a joint exhibition dedicated to all these topics will make it possible to conclude the maximum number of transactions, to enable the establishment of business contacts, to strengthen partnerships, and to further increase the efficiency of the exhibitions. Such integration will allow visitors during the four days of the exhibition to purchase a house, to make arrangements for its refurbishment, to order furniture on the advice of the best designers and to immediately equip it with appliances meeting the latest standards, thus significantly saving time.

How to reach the exhibition venue?

For the convenience of visitors to the exhibition, there will be free shuttle buses to and from the Baku Expo Centre, which will depart from the Nariman Narimanov subway station. A detailed bus timetable can be found at www.bakubuild.az/transport . A system of online registration for visitors is available on the website in order to ensure prompt registration.
